Modernizing Program Management

Instituted by the Department of Defense (DoD), the Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program awards scholarships to students pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees in exchange for a finite service commitment at DoD facilities after graduation. To keep pace with its growth, the program needed to replace labor-intensive, manual processes with modern, intuitive interaction for all stakeholders. Join this session to hear how a holistic, integrated approach toward technology, program management, and market outreach delivered on the SMART mission to meet the growing needs of DoD laboratories and research facilities and foster the nation’s next generation of STEM leaders.
