Veronica Brown

Ms. Veronica Brown began working in the Program Management Branch (PMO) in November 2015 and became the PMB Branch Chief in 2021. During her time with OIT, Veronica worked across multiple Branches and Divisions as the Acting Branch Chief for the Applications Development Branch; the COR for SNAP programs, including the National Accuracy Clearinghouse (NAC); the COR/PM for the Technology Division; and as the COR for the Digital Solution Development Services BPA. Upon her selection as the PMB Chief, Ms. Brown was tasked with converting PMB from a ‘Branch’ into an Office. Since 2021, Ms. Brown has focused on implementing business and process upgrades that will improve PMO performance.

Ms. Brown began her federal service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Slovak Republic and became a full-time federal employee as a Peace Corps Regional Recruiter in the San Francisco/Bay Area. Her first position with FNS was in the FNS Western Regional Office, where she served as the SNAP Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Coordinator, the SNAP Outreach Coordinator, and a Program Specialist for Client Integrity.

In May 2012, Ms. Brown and her family travelled across the country, with their 1971 VW Bug in tow, to start a new position with the National Office Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Program Accountability and Administration Division (PAAD), where she was a Program Analyst focusing on SNAP Client Integrity. During that time, she worked on the SNAP Stewardship Solutions Project to strengthen program integrity that was awarded the Secretary’s Honor Award for Excellence in 2013 (now known as the Abraham Lincoln Honors Award). She also served as the SNAP customer lead on several key projects, including the SRA Data Mining Project and the electronic Disqualified Recipient System (eDRS), and was a graduating member of the Leadership Institute Class of 2015 and transferring to OIT.

Veronica earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from UC Berkeley and Master of Arts Degree in History from CSU Sacramento.
