Mr. Nathan H. Maenle is Acting Chief Diversity Officer, Office of the Secretary, at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Maenle leads VA’s effort in implementing one of the Presidential priorities of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (I*DEA). Previously, Mr. Maenle served as the Chief Consultant to the Deputy Under Secretary for Health in which he played an integral role in the rollout of the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort and in developing a sustainable Veterans Health Administration (VHA) EHRM governance structure. He also served as the Co-Executive Sponsor for the VHA implementation of the Joseph Maxwell Cleland and Robert Joseph Dole Memorial Veterans Benefits and Health Care Improvement Act of 2022.

Mr. Maenle has served as the Deputy Executive Director for Member Services, where he led more than 1,600 Team Members in facilitating access to VA healthcare and support services for Veterans and their families through four business lines: Health Eligibility Center, Health Resource Center, Pharmacy Services and Veterans Transportation Program.

Earlier executive assignments include: Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Human Resources and Administration; Deputy Assistant Secretary for Human Resources Management, Office of Human Resources and Administration; Principal Deputy Director for Human Resources Portfolio Management, Defense Manpower Data Center; Vice Director, Resources Management Center /Workforce Management Executive, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA); Director for Manpower, Personnel and Security, DISA; Vice Chief Information Officer, DISA; and Business Systems Executive (DISA).
