Mr. Bob Cunningham is the Executive Director for Enterprise Command Operations (ECO). As Executive Director, Mr. Cunningham is responsible for directing ECO’s 24/7 operations as the single point of contact for all Information Technology (IT) issues. ECO provides a clear and immediate response to IT incidents that range from National outages and emergencies to impacts to individual users. The VA’s infrastructure is critical to providing our Veterans and their families the best possible care. Mr. Cunningham measures success by speed to resolve incidents, adverted service disruptions, and by customer satisfaction.
Previously, Mr. Cunningham was the Deputy Executive Director, Enterprise Command Operations. He has more than 30 years of experience in Information Technology and Managed Services, and a proven record of strategically building and leading service delivery teams as well as mentoring and developing employees. By utilizing metrics that include reduced downtime, faster Mean-Time-To-Resolve (MTTR), quicker response to outages, speed of resolution to customer calls and tickets, threshold alerts and near misses along with indicators of customer satisfaction, Mr. Cunningham led the team to focus on the most impact on the VA’s service to veterans.
Mr. Cunningham served in the United States Air Force for more than 11 years. He was awarded numerous decorations during his time in the military and continues to support Veterans through his work with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Cunningham was named one of the 2023 FedHealthIT100 awardees. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Strayer University in Computer Information Systems and currently holds certifications in Executive Leadership, Project Management Institute, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations, and DevOps Leader.
