Deacon Maddox is part of a broad strategy to accelerate the development, manufacture, and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics.
As the head of planning and analytics, Mr. Maddox and his team develop, employ and mature information technology tools to provide visibility for leadership on all aspects of the vaccine operation. The effort incorporates a vast range of data streams across all U.S. jurisdictions to facilitate decisions and provide data tools to public health officials throughout the nation to plan, resource and execute vaccinations.
Charged with synchronizing and integrating data for distribution and administration operations, Mr. Maddox and his team use cutting-edge tools to collect, correlate and visualize data across the entire operation. Mr. Maddox, a native of Fort Carson, Colorado, is a career logistician. He attended the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, and upon graduation, entered active duty in the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.
A veteran of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Joint Endeavor (Bosnia), Mr. Maddox has over 25 years of military logistics experience leading Soldiers, Civilians and Contractors from platoon to brigade level. He has completed tours with the 1st Armored Division in Germany, Bosnia and Texas; the 1st Infantry Division in Germany and Iraq; the 1st Cavalry Division in Texas; and the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea.
His other assignments include Aide-de-Camp at Army Sustainment Command, two years commanding Letterkenny Army Depot, one year as the Deputy Commander of Surface Deployment & Distribution Command, and one year as the Military Deputy of the Supply Chain Management Directorate in AMC Headquarters.
In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in History from VMI, Mr. Maddox earned a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth. He completed a U.S. Army War College Fellowship in Supply Chain Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, Mr. Maddox completed AMC’s Depot & Arsenal Executive Leader Program at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, as well as the Joint and Combined Warfighting School in Norfolk, Virginia.
